Hilarious April Fool’s Joke Gone Bad …

Everyone loves a good April Fool’s day prank, especially at the office. But watch what happens when this employee’s prank backfires -- big time!

When Did April Fool’s Day Start, Anyway?

Have you ever wondered how April Fool’s day came about?

There is actually nothing set in stone about the origins of "All Fool's Day," but one theory does seem to stand out above the rest. The story goes that in France in 1582, people celebrated the New Year for eight days, beginning on March 25 and ending April 1.

Around this time, however, the Gregorian calendar was introduced and New Year's Day was moved to January 1. Of course, there were no phones or faxes back then, so word traveled by foot. It's said that many people either did not hear about the switch or simply refused to believe it, and as a result continued to celebrate New Year's Day through April 1.

The rest of the population (who was in on the new calendar) took to calling those left out of the loop as "fools" and even began playing practical jokes on them, hence the beginning of April Fool's Day as we know it today.
